backyard bowl progress 090427

It rained hard all night and most of the morning so it’s a muddy mess out there today. Just a couple of small puddles in the bowl though.

090426 bowl progress

Or maybe they were until I found this this morning while moving the dirt around.

We did a lot of digging yesterday. I was down in that hole for two shifts for a total of about six hours. Thanks Rick, Rick, Rich, Troy, Brad, Steve, Randy, Shawn, Heath and Lorenzo.

backyard skate bowl progress 4-23-09

Shawn and I dug down to the final depth last night to to set a reference point. I’m standing in the hole. It’s about 88 inches down from the top of the plate. The latest plan is for six-foot radius with six inches of vert. Click on the image to see it larger. Man, there’s still a lot of dirt to move.

Burnside skatepark

I got there kind of late because we had the Pier Park Pickup volunteer event in the morning. I didn’t see much in the way of rad skating but the parking lot was full of people.

090419-progress

All put together but not staked yet. Too many skateboarding events this weekend.

Hey, someone suggested I put a donate button just in case anyone wanted to help me out with a few bucks. I’m getting a lot of help with the digging and how-to but I’m still going to have to come up with money for materials including rebar, concrete and coping. Come on dudes, help out a fellow american who has bitten off more than he can chew. Click the donate link over yonder to go to PayPal.
